Love is Love...
Dasara vacation brings up
all of my old memories;
The end of exams and the
arrival of October.
I would wait agitatedly for
some kin or the other
To take me to my abode of
peace,
The company of innocent
people and unspoilt silence.
Life changes its course
quite often, which is quite common.
Even my daughter has her
days of vacation.
At her young age she is
made for the days now.
Her options remain varied
and addictive;
Modern smart devices are
her obsession.
On a recent visit to her
grandmother’s town
She found a whale of time
to unleash all her pranks.
The animated games on the
screen would absorb her so much
That she hardly bothered to
listen, talk or taste the native food
That her grandmother served
with lots of love.
This really put me off,
watching closely all this while.
All of a sudden she banged
her pencil on the table out of frustration.
It was in a lightning speed
that I stood up
And landed a heavy blow on
her back.
She literally shuddered and
shrunk into her mother’s lap.
What did I do? She was
sobbing!
Her mother felt the deep
pain, showed me the marks.
I felt pained, for I had
never treated my daughter this worse!
I held my sweet kid, her
eyes reddened and tearful.
Tried to comfort her tender
soul, she was weeping.
A moment of rage causes
such a destruction!
Love is love when you love
all aspects of a child.
Possession is merely a
state of mind and it is mundane.
Young minds blossom when
they receive in full measure
Wisdom guided by everyday
labour and experience.
